I have seen people run their Google ads or Facebook ads and get people to a bad and ineffective landing page. It is a waste of your PPC money when you don’t optimize your landing pages.
So for today, I am going to share with you what we use in our agency, the 14-step landing page formula, which is what you will ever need to create beautiful and effective landing pages for your PPC campaign.
14 steps to create the best and effective landing page
1. Your landing page should be optimized for mobile
Over 90% of traffic is actually coming from mobile and because of this, it is always crucial to check if your landing page looks good on mobile and it loads fast as well.
2. Conduct A/B testing
If you are running your paid traffic, it is important that your website can undergo split testing or A/B testing. So before you run that campaign, look for a good website builder where you can run a split test.
I personally like Clickfunnels, Instapage, and Ubounce. I got to use them all and they all worked great for me. Do not just use one landing page builder with a split-testing feature, I suggest you experiment with more than one-page builder to assess which one works well on your end.
3. Get your phone number at the top of your landing page
This way people can easily see your contact number. This is a good technique for businesses in the service industry, especially for a local service business that is often contacted in emergency needs like plumbing or locksmith companies.
We like to use a system called call rail to track all of our phone calls and record them.
4. Answer the “why” question
Which is, “Why to choose us?”, and it also includes who you are and the benefits that come along when customers will hire or buy from you.
5. The signup form should be located above the fold
The form should always be above the fold, and best to be side by side with the company information. You wanna do this so your visitors can easily read about you and your company and why they should buy or hire you, and at the same time, the form will help them decide easily to sign up after reading your company information.
6. Testimonials and awards
This can be placed underneath the fold— your clients’ testimonials, awards, and recognition, or anything that will show how credible you are in your industry.
7. Features and benefits
Include features and benefits under the social proof section.
8. Call to action
You can also place a call to action within the form and another one right after the features and benefits.
9. Another section for features and benefits
You can give your audience more information if you have them. You can place this information below the fold.
10. More about us information
If you have a lot of information to share about your company, you can simply expand this underneath the fold.
11. Social proof
You can add more social proof or where your company is found. For example, you can feature logos of Yelp, Google My Business, and etc.
12. Reviews
You can place more reviews (or updated ones especially) in this section to get more credibility.
13. Another call to action
Where you want to place your logo and a clickable phone number.
14. Privacy policy
In your footer, make sure that you have your privacy policy or you may be penalized by Google, especially when running your ads. If you don’t have your privacy policy, you can buy templates online from private privacy policies.
