How to use the free Google keyword planner in your Google ads account
Access: Go and login to Google ads, click the Tools icon, then go to Google Keyword Planner.
Use: The Google Keyword Planner is very easy to use. To start discovering new keywords, you can search by simply entering the keyword on the search bar or you can choose to enter a domain or link to look for keywords used by a particular website.
Interpreting results: Once you hit enter, the keyword research tool will provide you with results related to the term that you entered in the search bar. If you use a domain instead, it will give you the commonly used keywords for that domain or website. The results are pretty much straightforward. I prefer to look at the search trend for each keyword that I think is best for my ads campaign since this data will determine what the keyword trends are in my industry and I can adjust my ads campaign based on the trends.
Another data that you should also look at is the bid section to see your competition. The bid section will tell you which keywords are popular. The higher the bid means the keyword is probably converting well too. But take note that the bid prices vary on the niche and industry. Most popular and evergreen industries usually have higher bid prices.
