5 tips in selling services
1. Features
When you’re selling your services, make sure you are clearly explaining the features. You should have a good understanding of all your services features and explain these features in a way that is easy to understand.
If your service feature is very technical in nature, avoid using technical terms. Instead, explain to them in simple words so they understand.
Remember that a confused mind will always say no. Since you are not selling a tangible product, always explain things in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
2. Benefits
Benefits are considered one of the important factors in selling services to customers. While features can be a good selling point, this element may not convince a customer unless you translate that feature into a benefit.
You should always think like a customer and ask this question: Why would they buy my services? What is in it for them?
To lay down all your features and benefits, list out all your features in one column, and on the other column, list all the benefits. When making this list, remember that “features tell, but benefits sell”.
3. Website
Do not forget to tweak your website when it comes to selling your services. This is because when you start selling, customers will definitely check you out and you need to prepare once they view your website.
By that, I mean making sure that you have a fast loading website and that it is optimized on mobile as well. You need to do this because people have a short attention span when it comes to browsing websites. So if your website takes too long to load, then you may lose potential customers.
If you want to know your website speed, I suggest you click and run Google Speed Test here. The recommended speed is 90% and above. Check both your desktop and mobile speed since these are two different platforms. Additionally, check your site speed often or at least every 6 months to make sure that you keep updated with good website speed.
4. Testimonials
Testimonials or reviews should also be available on your website or your social media accounts. This is your proof that you do have a legit business and if your reviews are high, then another proof that you are a good service provider.
Another creative way to showcase your customer reviews is to create a video about it. Make sure you have really high-quality videos.
These reviews build trust. On the other hand, the lack of it is a silent deal killer. The reason I say that is because you never know why you didn’t get the deal.
Every time we placed testimonial videos on our client sites, we’ve seen a huge bump in conversions.
5. Remarketing
Remarketing is important as there will be customers who will visit your website several times before deciding to hire you. To properly convince those customers, make sure that you retarget those customers by showing up your ads everywhere they go online then guide them back to you. This is one of the best and easiest strategies you can use to sell your services online.
