Let us start talking about one of the coolest examples that I love:
HILARIOUS REAL Commercial: Poo-Pourri with BETHANY WOODRUFF
I love Pot Pourri. This video gained millions of views and it became popular because of its use of humor. It’s all about making people laugh. The commercial did an outstanding job of putting together content that people would enjoy and would remember.
The products flew off the shelf as a result of that video and I talked to so many people who say wow I wish I had you know the ability to do some sort of advertising like that or another one that the producers, the Harmon brothers also did which was the Squatty Potty.
So how do you do the same with your ads? Do not just say you are number one. Everyone says they are number one in the industry. There’s got to be a better way and you can utilize humor in advertising.
Humor works. People love funny videos. People enjoy laughing at great and funny commercials. These commercials are memorable and that’s what people remember and associate with the brands.
You do not have to spend a lot making funny videos. Look at TikTok, which has over 600 million users. It consists of short, funny, and trending videos. People are addicted to watching these videos. Take the lesson from TikTok and know that is what people are hungry for and they’re embracing it.
You can create a strategy where you can use that for your own brand. Here’s how you do it:
How to make funny video ads
Create a 30-second commercial. If you have a great writing team and a videographer then good. But if not, go find a good writer. You can go to Fiverr to find good writers for a very low price. There are a lot of writers on Fiverr who can create a story for you.
What I want you to do is don’t just do one but do about three to four video ads and let the videographer put it together for you. You can have a really good videographer who can take a story from the writer and they can put it together using b-roll, using animation, and tell that story in a great way to get your point across and to make people laugh.
The next thing you do is find a platform. You can try Google ads or run them on 3 great platforms: YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. The platform depends on where your customers are and where the targeting is.
I’ll give you an example of what you can do. I run my ads on YouTube inside of Google ads. I launch my ads, in this case, I will go for awareness and reach. The goal is to get hundreds of thousands of people in your area connecting with your brand and becoming aware of it.
The next thing I will do is to run skippable in-stream ads. You can take the video and you can start loading it in, about 2 to 3 videos.
It is important to test different videos and watch closely the view rate and the number of people who watched the video until the end.
Running your video ads on the right platform will bring in great awareness and reach. People are hearing the message over and over to the point that whenever they need the company, the first thing they will call is you because you’ve established a connection and made them feel good about the brand.
