Exactly 90 days ago I started on a journey of building my brand through video.
I gave myself a personal challenge of recording 100 videos in 100 days. I recorded a video in the first week announcing my goal and making it known to the world that I was taking on this challenge.
I got to be honest, I hoped I could do it but I wasn’t sure if I could.
And I’m recording this video as I approach the 90% mark to give you an update.

Goal setting: Choose one goal to start; Be specific.
When you’re going after a goal, hitting the 90% mark is a refreshing feeling, you know that you know that you will hit your goal. It’s like getting a second wind.
At the start my goal was simple, to become a dominant authority in my industry. My agency WSI Priority Media specializes in Google Ads, SEO, and web design.
Instead of choosing all three topics, I chose to stay in one lane and master that one lane.
I honed my Google Ads skills because I especially enjoy it. I love talking to people about the subject, there’s a lot to know and it’s changing daily.
Why I chose YouTube as a marketing platform
Google owns YouTube and so video marketing is a part of Google advertising. Unlike Facebook ads which are interruption advertising, Google and YouTube ads are based on intent. People go to YouTube when they want to learn something or research something they need, and they go to Google when they are shopping for something.
My journey on growing my YouTube channel
I wanted to grow my YouTube channel, but I didn’t know-how. So, I started searching and taking as many courses on video marketing strategy that I could get my hands on.
What really resonated with me is the Video Marketing Ninja course by someone who’s become a really dear friend, Uzair Kharawala.
He is doing unbelievable things with his video marketing strategy. His videos are ranking for every major term that he’s going after. He’s even giving Neil Patel competition for online term dominance.
His formula is one video a day. I learned everything I know from his course.
My goal was 100 videos and 100 subscribers. As of the day of this recording I have 72. I remember 3 weeks going by and not a single subscriber was added.
Lately, it’s gathering steam and it seems like we’re adding subscribers every day. That’s how YouTube works, you develop page authority, and then it gains critical mass and you grow exponentially.
What I get in return
A side benefit of this is that I am becoming an authority in my industry. I get to teach and help a lot of people with their Google Ads.
I am getting marketing clients who I now manage Google Ads and YouTube Ads campaigns for as a result of my videos.
What’s next?
I am not stopping at 100. 100 videos were just my first goal to get out the gate.
I’ll record an update video on day 100 and let you guys know how I am doing.
My next goal is 1000 subscribers. My long-term goal is 100,000 subscribers. But step by step we’ll get there through the power of perseverance.
Never give up on your goal
I do not give up. I’ve read a great book called “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance”.
It’s a great book. It compares gifted people with grit, the ones who never give up. And overall people with outperform and outlast gifted geniuses.
That gives me hope because I know I’m not a genius by any means, but I do not give up. When I want a goal bad enough, I will go after it until I achieve it.
I imagine the Grand Canyon in my mind. The power of persistence dug massive claims through that canyons.
Back to you
I challenge you to do the same thing for your business. If you have grit and you want to build your brand on YouTube, then start recording a video every day and sharing it with your audience and watch what great things will happen to you.
Some days will suck. There are days I do not want to record; I am too tired, or I just don’t feel in the mood to record video. I suck it up and do it anyways.
My video marketing strategy is a marathon, not a sprint. I don’t get hung up on the number of views or subscribers. I go on faith. I know that if I show up and hit this record button on this camera every day and upload a video, subscribers and clients will follow.
He that sows abundantly reaps abundantly.
